Terms and Conditions

Treatment of Animals

Veterinary physiotherapists are required to treat under veterinary referral in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, exemptions order 2015. Therefore, all clients that are currently under veterinary care MUST have a referral/consent from their veterinary surgeon before physiotherapy treatment. If your animal has not directly been referred to us by your veterinary surgeon, I will need to contact your veterinarian to acquire a referral prior to your appointment. Any physiotherapy assessment and/or treatment of your animal(s) may be discussed with your veterinary surgeon as required, and Fauna Veterinary Physiotherapy may refer an animal back to their veterinary surgeon for further investigation if deemed necessary at any stage.

Fauna vet Physio reserves the right to refuse treatment at any stage if deemed necessary. Circumstances in which this may happen include but are not limited to, the presence of undiagnosed lameness, behavioural concerns, safety issues, infectious disease or suspicion of illness, disease or uncontrolled health conditions. We do request that you try and let us know of any changes to your animal’s health prior to appointments.

We treat within our scope of practice and in accordance to the NAVP code of conduct, which can be found here

Please make an effort to have a suitable place for treatment, correct equipment and clean and dry animals as these are barriers to treatment.

We will provide all necessary information for your insurance company for this to be achieved in a timely manner. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance company will cover treatment and fees incurred from our services. In the event that you require us to make direct claims from your insurance company please agree this with us prior to any treatments of charges being incurred, we may agree to this at our discretion.
